Benji Bakshi: DP, Producer

Trained under ASC cinematography faculty at the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles, Benji is professional cinematographer for high-end digital and film projects.

In his undergraduate studies, Benji received a full scholarship to the Kodak Cinematographer's 5-day Intensive workshop in NYC, sponsored by Kodak and Abel Cinetech. There he shot, tested and analyzed every Kodak emulsion. Benji also received the Abel Cine Tech student filmmaker's grant, the Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association subsidy grant, and won best director, script, music, and editing awards for his undergraduate thesis VIBRATIONS at the Diamond Screen festival.

After receiving his BA in film production and classical music performance minor at Temple University in Philadelphia, Benji apprenticed under cinematographer Chris Manley, ASC (PRISON BREAK, CSI:NY, DAHMER), and interned at Panavision in Los Angeles, and RSVP, Inc. in Philadelphia, where he became proficient with Panavision as well as and Sony and Panasonic HD cameras. He then began freelancing on CBS' HACK and other television shows for Discovery, TLC, and broadcast TV. He began working as an AC for film and HD, and subsequently worked as a camera operator. He traveled the country as a cameraman, and filmed documentaries in Spain and Peru.

Benji has shot over 200 projects, including short films, commercials, features, music videos, and documentaries. He currently lives and works in LA.
