Preston Clay Reed: Creative Producer, UPM

Producer, Preston Clay Reed, has generated over 20 projects in the past four years, spearheading the creative endeavors and guiding the shared vision to completion.

Originally from Alabama, Clay relocated to Malibu, California in 1999 after being awarded a theater scholarship to Pepperdine University. No more than a year out of undergrad, Clay produced 11 short films - solidifying his passion for producing.

Clay became acquainted with well-crafted films made for a worldwide audience while working for international production and distribution company, Miramax. He learned the business of "the business" at high profile companies such as Paradigm (Top 10 Talent Agency) and Darren Star Productions (Production Company of Sex in the City, Melrose Place, Bev Hills 90210). He's worked with Sales Agents at Fabrication Films (Wristcutters) and The Little Film Company (The Last Station, It May Get Loud) at The American Film Market. In 2007, Clay went to The American Film Institute in order to focus on his personal producing process.

His film, SUSHI, was screened and nominated for a Golden Reel Award at The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. His film, THE MAGICIAN, is an Official Selection at the European Film Festival and will be screening in competition in Paris later this year. He recently finished production on the intellectual thriller, TRAVELING SALESMAN.

Clay is in pre-production on the rock and roll comedy [with] Sundance and Telluride award winning director, Sara Sugarman, slated to shoot summer 2010.

His combined experience and training has vetted his creative and production skills. In addition to designing detailed shooting schedules and budgets, Clay creates project summaries, financing plans, and marketing plans in order to provide a total production approach.

Much of his work is focused on guiding productions that merge commercial ideas with artistic vision. Clay brings a high level of integrity, enthusiasm, and loyalty to every project.
